COL (Rtd.) Abdulbari Abdirahman is a distinguished professional with an extensive background in supply chain management, oil and gas, and military finance. Currently serving as a Partner at Duruf ProcGas LLP, based at the Karen Professional Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, he brings a unique blend of corporate leadership and disciplined military strategy to every project he undertakes.
With a career spanning decades across Eastern and Central Africa, COL (Rtd.) Abdulbari Abdirahman has led high-impact initiatives in energy infrastructure, procurement, and supply chain management. His recent work includes LPG facility assessments and business planning in the DRC, and market surveys targeting low-income households in Mogadishu. He previously developed a pre-FEED solution for a solar plant in Somalia and pioneered fuel and lubricants export strategies across Somalia, South Sudan, Rwanda, and the DRC, contributing to a $2 million revenue pipeline. His leadership roles have included Regional Export Sales Manager for Ola Energy Kenya, Managing Director of Libya Oil Uganda, and Procurement Services Manager at Libya Oil Kenya.
Before his corporate tenure, COL Abdulbari served in senior finance and procurement roles within the Kenya Army, including as Colonel in Finance & Budgetary Planning and Deputy MD of the Armed Forces Canteen Organization (AFCO). In the private sector, he has managed multi-million-dollar projects, such as a $6M aviation initiative with ExxonMobil and a $3M maintenance program across 14 African and Middle Eastern countries. His efforts have led to significant cost reductions and operational efficiency. Academically, he holds an MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, SPSM certification, CPA(K), and U.S. Army finance training, and he is an active member of KISM and ICPAK.
Beyond the boardroom, COL Abdulbari is deeply committed to environmental and social causes. He initiated a tree planting program in Uganda’s Mabira Forest, contributing over 1,000 trees with the help of local staff. As a dedicated member of the Kiligrit Mountain Climbing Team, he has raised funds for charitable organizations including Mama Ibado Old Peoples’ Home and UMR Sudan, and has contributed to community projects such as school construction in Mukuru, Nairobi.
An avid hiker and mountain enthusiast, COL Abdulbari has summited Mount Kilimanjaro six times and Mount Meru three times, showcasing his passion for endurance and outdoor adventure. He frequently hikes the Ngong Hills and the Aberdare Ranges, and has explored various Kenyan landscapes including Ol Donyo Sabuk and the Sleeping Warrior in Elementaita. His hiking philosophy—“Every summit teaches perseverance; every trail builds camaraderie”—is a reflection of both his personal discipline and his commitment to team development.
