A passionate humanitarian worker with over three decades of experience, Mohamoud Duale has dedicated his life to aiding communities affected by calamities since 1993. His relentless spirit and commitment to making a difference have made him a beacon of hope for many. Since joining the Kilgrit team in 2018, Mohamoud has seamlessly blended his love for adventure with his humanitarian pursuits, climbing the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro over seven times, with an ambitious goal of reaching the summit 20 times. Despite facing the challenge of altitude sickness, which begins at 3400M, his determination to conquer the heights remains undeterred.

Renowned among his peers as the “team Doctor,” Mohamoud ensures the safety and well-being of his fellow adventurers by always carrying essential medicine and a first aid kit. His passion for nature expeditions not only reflects his adventurous spirit but also his commitment to advocating for climate change and environmental sustainability—issues he holds close to his heart.

Mohamoud’s academic journey is as follows.,He completed his undergraduate studies in International Development at Kimmage Development Center, Maynooth University, Ireland, in 2006. He further honed his expertise with a postgraduate diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University, New York, USA., followed by a Master’s in Governance and Ethics at Mount Kenya University and another Master’s in Climate Change Adaptation at Nairobi University in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Additionally, he enhanced his leadership skills through an executive program in nonprofit organization management at Stanford University, California.USA.

Currently serving as the Executive Director of RACIDA, a leading regional nonprofit organization operating in Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia, Mohamoud continues to champion the cause of community resilience and climate adaptation. His journey is not just a testament to his personal passion but a profound commitment to helping others thrive in the face of adversity.
