Omar Adan Meygaag, born in the early 1970s on the shores of the River Dawa in Rhamu, Mandera County, is an accomplished mountaineer and outdoor enthusiast. Growing up in a rural setting, Omar started his journey as a camel and donkey herder, which instilled in him a profound connection to nature and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors.
Omar’s academic journey began at Mandera DEB Primary School (1983-1987) and continued at Mandera Secondary School from 1988 to 1991. Following his education, he transformed his passion for the mountains into a remarkable adventure-seeking lifestyle. With an impressive record of having conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro six times and Mt. Kenya twice, Omar thrives on embracing new challenges and exploring the majesty of the world’s peaks.
